A concert celebrating the music of Johnny Cash featuring The Bluebillies and Marty Wendell and His Tour Band

HUDSON FALLS, NY Rockabilly Hall of Famer Marty Wendell and Americana musicians The Bluebillies will be presenting an evening of songs and stories celebrating the life, legend and music of Johnny Cash, at 7:30 pm on Friday, May 10th, 2019, at the historic Strand Theater at 10 Main Street, Hudson Falls, NY.

Marty Wendell toured as Johnny Cash's opening act following the release of Cash's Folsom Prison album. That was just one highlight of a career that has spanned more than 50 years. This show will also highlight the release of Wendell's most recent album, "Rock & Roll Days", a celebration of Sun Records, which includes a bonus track featuring an interview between Wendell & Cash in 1968. Wendell and his tour band are masters of traditional rockabilly versions of Cashs classic songs, while the hillbilly-bluegrass of The Bluebillies rethinks and recreates The Man in Blacks music in a modern, eclectic way.

This show will also highlight the release of Wendell's most recent album, "Rock & Roll Days", a celebration of Sun Records, which includes a bonus track featuring an interview between Wendell & Cash in 1968. The Bluebillies and Marty Wendell have performed their tribute at the legendary Caffe Lena in Saratoga Springs, NY and are taking their celebration of the music of Johnny Cash on the road. Along with the May 10th concert at The Strand the troupe is booked to repeat the event at several venues throughout New York.
