A Night of New Music at the Strand Theater

Join us at the Strand Theater for a special co-bill release celebration, featuring two Capital Region artists unveiling brand-new work in an evening built around discovery, connection, and live performance. Opening the night is Lucas Garrett, backed by bassist Thom Carvey. Lucas Garrett a seasoned songwriter and performer whose sound draws inspiration from everything from The Beatles to Phoebe Bridgers. With over 13 years of professional experience, Garrett blends progressive rock, folk, new wave, and indie into a style that’s both idiosyncratic and deeply engaging. He’ll be celebrating the release of his latest album—Bad Karma—and every ticket purchased includes a free copy of the record.

Garrett has released four albums to date, all receiving notable airplay on stations including WEXT and WEQX, and his instrumental track “Loosey Goosey” is set to appear in the upcoming independent film Deb & Seth Save the World by Dirty Sweater Productions. He’s currently at work on his next album, Bad Karma, while continuing to perform and collaborate throughout the Capital Region.

Closing the night is Shannon Tehya, the feminist pop force of the Capital Region, celebrating the release of her new single - Renegades -  with her dynamic five-piece band. Known for her flair for chaotic creativity and commitment to radical kindness, Tehya’s music blends pop, funk, jazz, and R&B into joyful, emotionally resonant performances that lift rooms and move hearts.

Backed by an eclectic lineup of talented musicians—Dane Jennings (drums), Hunter Frost (vocals, guitar, bass), Peter Roderick (vocals, guitar), and Rachel Costello (vocals)—Shannon Tehya brings modern energy, choreographed movement, and soulful storytelling to the stage, creating shows that are as powerful to watch as they are to feel.
